Brian “B” Smith, age 61, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Born in Chester, PA, on August 2, 1964, he was a son of the late Edward and Barbara (Coons) Smith. Brian spent a decade working at Brandywine Tree and Shrub as a groundsman. He then worked as a tow truck driver at First State Towing in New Castle for 5 years.

When he wasn’t working, Brian was happiest with a tool in his hand. Whether he was tinkering around the house or diving into the world of Star Trek.

Brian’s memory lives on through his companion of 39 years, Robin C. Vernon; children, Jonathan A. Smith (Amanda Kloeckner), Shawn E. Smith, and Kerri C. Smith; and siblings, George Smith, Edward Smith, and Janet Quillen.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 5 pm on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 5 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.
