BRIAN KEITH “STIX” PIERSON
SUNRISE: MONDAY, JULY 28, 1957 – SUNSET: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2024
Brian Keith “Stix” Pierson, age 66, of Bear, DE, passed away to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on Monday, July 28, 1957, he was a son of the late Betty Lou (McVey) Fisher and Thomas Byard Pierson, Jr. He was later raised by George W. Fisher and his mother, Betty. Brian graduated from Del Castle High School in 1976 and later joined the United States Air Force from February 8, 1977, to February 6, 1981, when he was honorably discharged.
Brian met the love of his life, Linda L. Schultz, in September of 2001 and married her a month later, on October 27, 2001. Linda had one daughter, Leigha, from a previous marriage, and a grandson, Deagan. From the time of Brian and Linda’s union, they never spent a day apart until her death on March 12, 2020.
Brian attended St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Earleville, MD, with his wife and joined the Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic of Delaware later in life with his caregiver, Grace, whom he grew to love and adore and later embraced as a niece.
In the care of Grace, Brian became lovingly known as “Uncle Brian” to her family and friends. He prized the many children in her family and was admired and revered by everyone he encountered for his easy-going, humble, and gentle personality.
Mr. Brian attended Messiah’s Angels Adult Daycare Center during the days and was esteemed by staff and friends alike. He also loved reading his Bible whenever and wherever possible and having great conversations about anything.
In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda L. (O’Neal) Pierson; and stepdaughter, Leigha. He is survived by his siblings, Lynn Suzanne Dorman (Bill) of Wilson, NC, Allen Dale “Butch” Pierson of South Carolina, Thomas Byard Pierson III, Sue Pierson, Mabel Jean Pierson Register, and Linda Kay Delp; grandson, Deagan McGuire; caregiver, Gwevolyn “Grace” Higgin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brian will be missed by everyone who loved and cherished him.
A committal service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the Messiah Angels Adult Daycare Center, P.O. Box 1151, Bear, DE 19701 or online by clicking here.
