Bryanne Souders

Bryanne Souders was born on August 6, 1949, at the Jamaica Hospital in Jamaica, New York, and was the beloved daughter of Earl Albert Manning and Constance Brown. She cherished her family’s Caribbean heritage, with roots tracing back to the beautiful island of St. Kitts.

As a child she lived in New York, Bangor, Maine, and New Haven, Connecticut before her family settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she spent her teenage years.

Education was something she deeply valued. Although she left high school during the eleventh grade, she refused to let that define her future. Determined to achieve her goals, she later returned through an adult education program to earn her high school diploma, demonstrating the perseverance that would shape her beautiful life.

Her compassionate heart led her into nursing, where she began her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Byberry Institute. Inspired by her passion for caring for others, she enrolled at James Martin LPN School in 1975. She later continued her education at Penn State and the Frankford School of Nursing and proudly earned her RN degree in 1988. Throughout her nursing career, she cared for countless patients with kindness, skill, and compassion. Her gracious spirit was reflected in her work at Albert Einstein Hospital, Abington Hospital, and Crozer Hospital, where she lovingly cared for others until her retirement.

Outside of her career and well into her retirement years, she loved traveling, visiting museums, dining out, and cheering on her favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. She treasured spending time with her family, creating lasting memories with those she loved most. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing.  She had a special love for butterflies and elephants, both of which symbolized beauty, resilience, strength, and unconditional love. With a true servant’s heart, she also enjoyed volunteering at her local senior center, where she continued to care for and encourage those around her.

Bryanne Souders peacefully entered eternal rest in the comfort of her home on July 20, 2026, surrounded by her most precious gift and blessing, her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Michael Souders; her brothers, Victor Manning and Vance Manning; and stepbrothers, Dennis Allen and Norman Allen. She was also preceded in death by her precious fur baby, Mikey.

She leaves a legacy of those who loved her dearly and who will forever treasure her memory, including her son, Robert T. Newton, III, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her daughter and son-in-law, Rachel M. and Richard Arnold, of Townsend, Delaware; her son and daughter-in-love, Romaine V. and Aisha Newton, of Etters, Pennsylvania; her bonus children, son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Caroline Souders, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Robert  Yusko; 9 grandchildren, Crystal Wilson (Stanley), Alyssa Fleming, Natelie Gaymon, Stephanie Yellowdy (Kenneth), Sabrina Newton, Romaine Horton, Robert T. Newton IV, Richard E. Arnold III, and Tyree Newton; 13 great-grandchildren, Na’jair Smith, Elijah Gaymon, Micah Jamison, Sincere Nuble, Kamron Fleming, Nehemiah Gaymon, Mason Williams, Richard E. Arnold-Lea IV, K’yng Yellowdy, Morgan Williams, Amiaya Arnold, Anthony Naso-Newton, Robert T. Newton V; Two great-great-grandchildren, Alora Smith and Zamar Gaymon; her loving stepbrother, Brian Allen, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her stepsister, Joanne Manning, of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 10:30 am on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 10:30 am. Inurnment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.
