Carl H. Snyder

Carl H. Snyder, age 82, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 5, 1942, he was a son of the late Clifford N. and Madaline (Renner) Snyder. Carl proudly served in the United States Navy. He made his career as a police officer at the Philadelphia Police Department and in maintenance for Colonial School District.

Carl enjoyed serving as a youth sports coach and official as well as a chief umpire for Suburban Little League. He also spent time as a coach for the Delaware Special Olympics. In his spare time, Carl loved to go bowling. He looked forward to football season every year and was a Philadelphia Eagles season ticket holder.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruthie Martin, Margaret Glover, Clifford Snyder, Robert Snyder, Betty McLaughlin, and Clarence Snyder. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dougherty Snyder; children, Clifford Snyder (Jennifer) of Bridgeton, NJ and Diane Stuckert (Allan) of Middletown; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

All services will be held privately.
