Carmen Riopedre
July 14, 1974 - May 13, 2025
Carmen Riopedre, age 50, of New Castle, DE, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Born in Savana Grande, Puerto Rico on July 14, 1974, Carmen was a daughter of Carmen Virginia (Flores) Rivera and the late Reynaldo Riopedre. For almost twenty years Carmen was the cafeteria manager at Christiana Care Hospital. She enjoyed drawing, art, doing makeup, and collecting porcelain angels. By far Carmen’s favorite thing to do was spending time with the love and light of her life, her daughter, Aaliyah. During Carmen’s long time health issues, due to diabetes, Aaliyah enjoyed helping care for her mother. Carmen loved life and was unapologetically herself. Carmen was a very generous and giving person to all that knew her, especially her family members. She was a good listener and keeper of all secrets.
Carmen is survived by her precious princess daughter, Aaliyah Michelle Marrero; mother, Carmen V. Flores; brothers, Ronald Riopedre, Juan Gonzales-Flores and husband; God-daughter, Brianna Rosa; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her cherished dog, Baby Boy Thunder.
Carmen was a true believer in God’s love and grace for all. She is now an angel and will be watching over her daughter and all her loved ones.
All services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carmen’s memory to the fund created to help with Aaliyah’s future care, please contact Aaliyah’s father, Tito Marrero, to donate.
