Carol M. Lyons, age 74, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Born in West Point, NY on May 21, 1949, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Dorothy (Storms) Dove. Carol retired after a long career as a deli department associate with Pathmark.

Carol was extremely family-oriented. She was always happiest when spending time with her family and creating wonderful memories that will live on.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Czerny and beloved Pitbull, Paisley. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Lyons; daughters, Kimberly Gaughan (Phil) and Kelsey Lyons (Shane); grandchildren, David Dove, Jessica Reed, Robert Reed (Amber), Kimberly Reed, Ryan Reed, Philip Gaughan and Harper Harrigan; great-grandson, Vance Ivey; sister, Dorothy Potter; many extended family members; and her adored pets, Gonzo the Parrot, Belle the Pitbull and Grizzle the Pom-a-poo.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE.
