Carol P. Reule

Carol P. Reule, age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Born in Hawley, PA on March 26, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Adelaide “Sue” (Seiler) Brink. After moving to Newark, DE with her family in 1959, Carol attended Newark High School for 3 years before transferring to the newly built Christiana High School where she became a member of the first graduating class of 1964. After graduating, Carol began her career with DuPont before finding a permanent home with Avon where she worked as an offset printing press operator for over 20 years. After retiring from Avon, Carol pursued her dream of owning her own business, and along with her husband, Jim, owned and operated a company selling spices as a vendor in Cowtown Farmers Market and Flea Market.

Carol found great joy being on the water, spending many hours boating, crabbing, and fishing on the Rehoboth Bay with her family. She also looked forward to camping and enjoying family crab feasts and game nights. One of Carol’s favorite pastimes was exploring flea markets and antique shops looking for her next great find. Always with a generous spirit, she usually found small treasures for her family and friends on each adventure. The joy of the holidays, specifically Halloween and Christmas, always provided Carol a reason to decorate and plan family parties to celebrate the fun and love of the seasons. Above all, she treasured her family and the time she spent with them always looking for ways to make the time special.

Carol leaves a wonderful legacy of tenacity, generosity, and love with her family. Through both the good times, and the many challenges she faced, Carol never stopped fighting for joy in life, tackling obstacles with a positive attitude and hope. We will never forget these lessons.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Jim Reule; daughters, Daria Kohan (David) of Newark and DeAnn Walker (Jeff) of Tampa, FL; sisters, Annetta Wallace and Cindy Brink, both of Wilmington; and grandchildren, Matthew Kohan (Abby) and Katelyn Kohan.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
