Catherine Frances Fischer

Catherine Frances Fischer, age 95, of Bear, DE, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, after a brain aneurysm.

Catherine was born on October 28, 1929, to the late Marion and Wilbert Henry in Jersey City, NJ. After Catherine graduated from high school, she went on to study at Rutgers University, graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

In 1957, Catherine and William Edwin Fischer married and started their family of four, having their two children: Eric Fischer and Kurt Fischer.

After raising both of her sons, Catherine went on to have a career as a secretary at Lockheed Martin for the engineering department. After retiring, Catherine spent her time taking care of her mother, Marion, who lived with her and her eldest son until she passed. Catherine spent most of her time gardening, bird watching, reading books, watching tennis, playing her ukelele, and spending time with her friends.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her eldest son, Eric; and brother, Raymond Henry. She is survived by her son, Kurt (Lois); grandchildren, Kyle (Megan), Frances, and William; and close friends, Sima Reddy, Anne Menaquale, Catherine Mitchell, and Vanessa Elliot.

All services will be held privately.
