Catherine Phillips “Cathy” Landon - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Catherine Phillips “Cathy” Landon

May 30, 1950 - April 27, 2026

Catherine Phillips “Cathy” Landon, lovingly known as Grammy, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the age of 75.

She was born on May 30, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Alexander and Emma Phillips. Cathy was an only child and attended Catholic schools, a foundation that reflected the values and faith she carried throughout her life.

Cathy loved traveling the world with her husband, John, and bringing home treasures and memories from their adventures. Still, her heart was always at home — first in the wine country of Sonoma County, later in Middletown, Delaware, and at her cherished summer home in Cheboygan, Michigan.

She had a gift for making life beautiful and welcoming. Cathy enjoyed gourmet cooking, reading, and entertaining guests, and she took great pleasure in bringing family and friends together. She will be remembered for her warmth, her elegance, her devotion to those she loved, and the joy she found in life’s meaningful moments.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, especially in the treasured stories, family gatherings, and loving bonds she helped create.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Landon. She is survived by her children, Natalie (Todd), David (Kirsten), and John (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob, Matthew, Sean, Kyle, Joshua, and Joseph; and her great-grandchildren, Artemus and Bohden. Her family was the center of her life, and she especially cherished her role as grandmother and great-grandmother to so many boys.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.
