Catherine T. “Katie” Quirico
February 9, 1925 - July 14, 2018
Catherine T. “Katie” (nee Limonta) Quirico, age 93, of Newark, DE, died of complications from kidney cancer on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
Born in Winter Park, FL on February 9, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Dominica Rose (Galerino) Limonta. Katie worked part time for many years as a postal clerk in Little Ferry, NJ. She attended St. Margaret’s of Cortona Church in Little Ferry, NJ and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church in Bear, DE.
During her lifetime, Katie was fortunate enough to have traveled the world. She regularly visited the Weston Senior Center. Katie enjoyed cooking and gardening, and had a love for all animals. Most of all, she loved her family and was loved by all.
In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, US Navy veteran, John Quirico. She will be missed by her children; Jeffrey Quirico (Elaine Hinko); Thomas Quirico (Phyllis Sozio), and Susan Borst (Jason); sisters, Josephine “Joan” Yotka (age 102) and Margaret Wasnesky (age 90); 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Services and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the Quirico family asks that you consider planting a tree in Katie’s memory or adopt an animal from your local shelter.
