Charles F. Williams, Sr., age 74, of New Castle, DE, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a short battle of melanoma cancer on Friday, April 18, 2025.

Charles was born in Wilmington, DE on August 23, 1950. He was a man devoted to his family and a lover of nature. Throughout his life, Charles held various jobs to support his family, including positions at Budget Rent-a-Car and as a bus driver at the Christina bus yard. His work ethic was unmatched, often taking on additional odd jobs to ensure his family’s well-being.

Charles had a passion for automobiles, reflected in his younger years spent racing the quarter mile at Cecil County Raceway. In his later years, he found solace in his backyard, enjoying the simple pleasures of wind chimes, watching birds and observing wildlife.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, RoseMary Williams and sister, Patricia Serrano. He is survived by his three children, MariaRosa Verucci (Steve), Charles Williams (Lindsay) and Tara Lewis (Mike); sisters-in-law, Beth Geller (Ed) and Dawn Stewart (Don); 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Following the viewing, a committal service will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charle’s memory to Saint Francis LIFE, 1072 Justison Street, Wilmington, DE 19801 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 111 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713, in honor of Charle’s compassionate spirit and love for life.
