Charles P. “Chuck” Guajardo

April 12, 1944 - October 23, 2023

Charles P. “Chuck” Guajardo, age 79, of Glen Mills, PA, and formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023.

Born in Detroit, MI, on April 12, 1944, he was a son of the late Carlos and Mary (Arias) Guajardo. Chuck proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He made his career working as an administrative employee at the Chrysler Corporation for 25 years until his retirement in 1992.

A friend to the community, Chuck was an active volunteer with the United Way as well as Big Brothers Big Sisters. He was a member of the local Office & Clerical Workers Union, serving as the recording secretary; Paralegal Association of Delaware; and O-Scale Three Rail organization.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Laurie (McLaurin) Guajardo; children, Theresa A. Gavina, Charles P. Guajardo III, and Theodore A. Guajardo; brothers, Ed Guajardo and Ernest Guajardo; and many grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:30 am. Inurnment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

  • I’m so sorry to hear of Chucks’ death. We both enjoyed model railroading and talking about what we might accomplish next. We both were friends in NHS .
