Charles W. Oetting, Jr.

Charles W. Oetting, Jr., age 86, of Aston, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
Born in Camden, NJ on December 18, 1936, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Lillian G. (Wurst) Oetting, Sr. Charles was a graduate of Merchantville High School in Merchantville, NJ in 1954. He then attended Rutgers University in Camden, NJ where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Charles proudly served in the United States National Guard during the Vietnam War. He had a successful career working in banking with First PA Bank, Corestates Banking, and finally PNC Bank as an officer of the trust department.
Charles enjoyed being in nature during his free time. He spent countless hours bird watching and exploring new landscapes, always stopping to admire the trees. Charles also enjoyed trains.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas Oetting; and brother, Richard Oetting. He is survived by his wife, Julia (Lizzi) Oetting; former wife, Helen N. James; son, Daniel Oetting; grandchildren, Christine Simons (Todd) and Matthew Oetting; and brothers, James Oetting, Robert Oetting, and John Oetting.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11 am on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.

I remember Uncle Bill’s sense of humor, love of birds and nature. We are very lucky to be family with his son who shares his same sense of humor. God’s blessings and prayers to the family.
