Cheryl Kennedy-Williamson

April 19, 1960 - June 18, 2025

Ms. Cheryl Kennedy-Williamson, age sixty-five, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday evening, June 18, 2025, at Wilmington Hospital.

She was born April 19th, 1960 in New Castle, a daughter of James Kennedy and Lilly Kennedy.

A gifted stained glass artist, Cheryl brought color and beauty into countless homes and hearts. Her intricate designs caught the sunlight just as she herself caught the hearts of all who knew her. Each piece she crafted was a testament to her patient hands and her creative spirit—a lasting reflection of her vibrant soul.

When she wasn’t at her workbench, Cheryl found joy in quieter acts of love, crocheting soft, warm blankets for expectant mothers, friends, and anyone in need of comfort. Each stitch was filled with care, a gentle reminder of her ever-giving heart.

Known for her quick wit and mischievous sense of humor, Cheryl had a knack for lightening any moment with a well-timed joke or playful prank, especially at work in her office. She had a special gift for making people laugh – and for never taking life too seriously.

She was the heart of every adventure, eagerly planning family trips and creating cherished memories with those she loved most. Whether it was an Outer Banks vacation or a simple at-home BBQ, she made each moment feel magical. But some of her favorite moments were the simple ones: sitting peacefully in the sun with her cherished dog Linden, soaking in the warmth as if storing light for the next burst of joy she would share.

Cheryl is survived by her two children, Curtis and Rebecca Williamson; two grandchildren, Liam and Lilly Russell; two brothers, Mark and James Kennedy; and her mother, Lilly Kennedy. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In honor of Cheryl, take a moment to sit in the sun, smile, and maybe even pull a prank on someone you love. She would’ve liked that.
