Christine Cecelia Myslenski

May 24, 1948 - December 1, 2023

Christine Cecelia Myslenski of Newark, DE passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 1, 2023.

Born in Darby, PA on May 24,1948, Chris was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Evelyn C. (Burns) Mickle. Chris was a 1966 graduate of Newark High School and afterwards attended Hiram Scott College. She went on to have a rewarding career as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines and later worked for the New Castle County Division of Aging, as well as Chase Manhattan Bank.

A devout Catholic, Chris was an active member of Holy Family Parish, where she was a Eucharistic Minister to the sick and homebound. Chris was an avid animal advocate who over many years rescued homeless cats, providing them the love and kindness they so deserved. In her leisure time she enjoyed shopping, trips to the beach, having dinner with her girlfriends and attending her grandsons’ baseball games.

Above all, Chris cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She had countless friends and was a well-loved member of her community. To know Chris was to know love. She saw the good in everyone and had a special place in her heart for all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Nicole A. James (Michael); grandsons, Evan and Ryan; sister, Kathleen Mickle-Askin (Jack); nieces, Leigh Weldin (Mark) Elise and Carter; and Laura Askin (Jim McDaniel).

A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’ memory to Faithful Friends, 165 Airport Road, New Castle, DE 19720 or online by clicking here.
