Clara M. Streets, age 91, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on June 25, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Elwood S. and Marie Christina (Peterson) Wilkins, Jr. Clara made her career as a crossing guard for New Castle County, retiring after 21 years of dedicated service.
Dedicated to her faith, she was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and collecting antique miniatures. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert W. Streets; and brother, Elwood S. Wilkins III. She is survived by her loving son, Dale A. Streets, Sr. (Kara); and grandchildren, Dale A. Streets, Jr., and Alexandra M. Streets.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11 am on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in Hockessin Friends Meeting Cemetery, 1501 Old Wilmington Road, Hockessin, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clara’s memory to Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, c/o Christiana Care, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899 or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
