Connie graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, DE, class of 1961. That same year, she married Edgar York Zebley. Connie was a thoughtful, kind and generous human being. She was also feisty, sharp-witted and outgoing. She was a woman of faith and especially loved singing Baptist hymns. As a lifelong music lover, she was a huge Elvis fan. She loved spending time with her family and friends, sharing jokes, laughter, and good food. A great cook, she was known for her signature dishes like baked beans, potato salad, and strawberry pretzel salad, to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar York Zebley (2005), brothers, Raymond D. Shupe, Sr. (2003), John R. Shupe, Sr. (2014), sister, Linda S. Walden (2016) and her beloved Chihuahuas, ChiChi, PeeWee and Chia.

My Mom’s favorite poem-
“I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd.
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze:
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance:
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed–and gazed –but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.”
