Cynthia Ann Robinson - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Cynthia Ann Robinson

Cynthia Ann Robinson, age 62, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away on March 5, 2026. A woman of profound intellect, a beautiful voice, and a spirited heart, Cynthia left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cynthia was a lifelong learner with a sharp and inquisitive mind. She excelled in her academic pursuits at the University of Delaware, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences. Her desire to understand and help others eventually led her to the University of Maryland, where she was awarded a Master of Social Work with a specialization in mental health and substance abuse.

Beyond her academic achievements, Cynthia was a woman of deep creativity. As a talented guitarist and singer with a soulful gift, she shared her voice with the community by performing on occasion at local cafes in Newark. Her music was a true reflection of her spirit, remaining resonant, thoughtful, and bright.

When she was not immersed in music or study, Cynthia could often be found cheering on her favorite football teams. In a display of her unique and independent spirit, she was a devoted fan of both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. She happily navigated one of the greatest rivalries in sports with her own distinct brand of loyalty. Cynthia loved animals and owned cats for most of her adult life.

On May 29, 1999, Cynthia married her beloved husband, David Goldfield, at the Newark United Church of Christ. Their twenty-six years of marriage were rooted in a deep and enduring partnership.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, James H. Robinson, and her mother, Carolyn Phillips (Howard).

Her memory will be cherished by her husband, David; her siblings, Cecelia Mader (Bob), Andrew Robinson (David Stone), and Alexander Robinson (Linda); her stepparents, James Phillips, Suzanne Robinson, and Al Davis; and her in-laws, Linda Goldfield and Jason Goldfield (Wanda).
