Dana Tompkins

Dana Tompkins, age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Born in Oak Hill, WV on July 30, 1949, he was a son of the late Velda (Harper) and Dana Tompkins, Sr. Upon graduating from William Penn High School, Dana began his lifelong career as an ironworker with Local 451. He later owned his own company Steel Erection & Building Franchise (Ardan Steel).
Dana enjoyed hot rods, classic cars, and fishing. He especially loved visiting the beach with his family.
Dana is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Arlene R. (Long) Tompkins; daughter, Lori Sharpe; brother, Jerry Tompkins (Cookie); brother & sister in laws, Rich & Bonnie Campbell and Curt & Brenda Thomlinson; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his loyal dogs, Cody and Bailey.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
