David “Dave” Andrew Silver

David “Dave” Andrew Silver, age 64, of Falls Church, VA, passed away on January 13, 2026 after a long battle with a particularly virulent staph infection that resulted in his death.

Dave was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on May 31,1961. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lori Silver; sister, Beth Silver; daughter, Jennifer Silver; and son, Tim Silver; grandsons, Andrew Pitas and Joseph “Joe” Silver; and granddaughters, Autumn Burner and Katherine “Kate” Silver. He was preceded in death by his step-father, who essentially raised him, Gaius “Lee” Brown Jr.; and his father, Gordon Silver. He was followed shortly after by his mother, Eleanor Brown.

Dave was a rugged, hardworking, family loving Canadian, who later became a dual citizen. He attended Falls Church High school and later Rothesay Collegiate School in New Brunswick, Canada followed by a brief stint in university there.  His employment included positions of increasing responsibility with installing, repairing, troubleshooting automotive sound systems and related components, then pivoted to pest management and control in his later years. He loved hunting deer, fishing occasionally, growing vegetables, working on cars (mainly his daughter’s) and exterminating bugs. He loved to tell stories of his past and had a keen sense of humor, who could always make you laugh. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. When he wasn’t working on cars or killing bugs, Dave could be found watching a crime or ghost show, watching Redskins/Capitals/Nationals games or listening to classic rock music and enjoying a stiff drink in his favorite recliner. Dave fought so very hard in the last 5 months since entering the hospital, but his body was tired and God called him home on January 13, 2026.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of thoughts and prayers during his battle.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, Delaware.
