David E. Lundberg, age 81, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024.

Born in Chester, PA on August 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Clara Siple Lundberg and Clarence Lundberg of Glenolden. David proudly served in the United States Navy. He made his career as a lineman and then a cable splicer at Verizon, retiring after 37 and a half years.

David enjoyed giving back to his community as a volunteer fire fighter at the Garden City Fire Company. He was also active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with his sons and loved coaching them in baseball. In his spare time, David loved doing DIY projects around his house. He often looked forward to traveling to warm places, going on camping trips, and relaxing at their trailer at Elkview Shores in Maryland. David’s most cherished memories were made at family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara (Exley) Lundberg; sons, Dustin Lundberg and Donald Lundberg; and siblings, Stephen Lundberg and Jennette Lundberg Finley. He is survived by his brothers Richard Lundberg and Kenneth Lundberg, and sister Barbara Bacon; his children, David E. Lundberg, Jr. (Nicole) of King of Prussia, PA and Keith Lundberg (Roxanne) of New Castle; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.
