David Edward “Dave” Jacobs, Sr.

David Edward “Dave” Jacobs, Sr., age 83, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 29, 1942, he was a son of the late William E. and Elizabeth L. (Burr) Jacobs. Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his discharge, he began his career with Chrysler Co. where he retired. Dave then embarked on a new career as a truck driver where he enjoyed traveling through each state.

An avid outdoorsman, Dave loved hunting, fishing, and target practicing. While living in Arizona and California, as well as his travels to Alaska, he enjoyed prospecting for gold. Dave was a good-hearted person who made many friends over the years.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette A. (Stevens) Jacobs; son, Michael W. Jacobs; and siblings, William Jacobs, John Jacobs, and Judy Green. He is survived by his children, Mary Ann Graham (Larry), David Jacobs, and Bonnie Jacobs; stepdaughter, Darlene Szudera (Mike); and siblings, Paul Jacobs (Angela) and Bonnie Roark.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
