David L. Morris

David L. Morris, age 67, of New Castle, DE, passed away on August 20, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on May 3, 1958, David overcame many challenges early in life. From a young age, he was embraced by his wife’s family, who provided him with a true sense of home. He held their love and support close to his heart, feeling immense gratitude for the place of belonging they created.

David built a career as a dump truck driver with Worthy Brothers Construction before transitioning to delivering home heating oil, spending the past decade working with Harley Services.

In his younger years, David treasured his time at Gulls Way Campground, where he enjoyed boating and crabbing. He was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan and took great pleasure in classic western movies. He had a lifelong appreciation for The Three Stooges, always finding endless joy in their humor.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Donna A. Morris. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law, Lillian Riccio; father-in-law, Leonard Riccio; and brother-in-law, Thomas Riccio.

David is survived by his sons, Joseph Morris (Jessica) of Bear and Bradley Morris (Kasey) of New Castle, and his grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, and Daniel Morris. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Monica Stong (Steven) of Bear; niece, Kaitlin Stong; nephews, Thomas and Brandon Riccio; and his close friends Cheryl and Tony, who were dear to his heart.

Inurnment will be held privately, with no formal services planned.
