Debra Lee Williams
August 6, 1958 - December 29, 2024
Debra Lee Williams, age 66, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 6, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Daniel K. Smithgall and Janey Lynn (Mulraney) Groff. Debra made her career as a supervisor at QVC from 1992 until 2009. She then began working at Wawa until her retirement in September of 2023.
Every Halloween, Debra enjoyed making costumes for her children. During the holidays, she spent countless hours in the kitchen cooking delicious meals for her family. Debra was beautiful, lovely and the life of the party who loved to talk to anyone who would listen. She was very passionate about animals, especially her pets. Even more so, she’d tear up every time she saw a single goose lost from its flock. Debra could often be found on her porch or deck watching the wildlife. She always had a full bird feeder ready for any visiting birds. Debra will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, and as a loving mother, wife and friend.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her sister, Donna L. Smithgall. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 43 years, Eric O. Williams; sons, Eric O. Williams, Jr. and the “wonderful and handsome” (as per Debra) Joseph R. Williams (Kristen Adamek); and her beloved cats, Bootsie, PeeWee and Piggy.
All services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debra’s memory to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 290 Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE 19720 or online by clicking here.
