Dennis Jay Matthews, age 71, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Born in Mt. Holly, NJ on January 4, 1954, he was a son of the late Charles William and Ethel (Holmes) Matthews. Dennis graduated from Burlington County Community College in New Jersey, where he received his Associate’s Degree. He made his career as a driver for Yellow Freight. Dennis enjoyed mowing the lawn and looking after and caring for the Christiana Community Center.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Judith Jennings; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.
All services will be held privately.
