Diane Pauline (Michaud) Meadowcroft, age 71, of Delaware City, DE, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Born in Lewiston, ME on April 4, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Lewis B. “Burt” Michaud and Edna (Peters) Michaud. Diane made her career at PPG Industry in Newark and later at Arbors at New Castle as an activity aide.

Diane loved experimenting with her creativity, spending much of her free time drawing, crafting, and making jewelry. During the summer months, she enjoyed going to the beach. Diane had a deep passion for caring for others, devoting countless hours to looking after the children of Delaware City. She took especially good care of her dogs, Mila and Milo. Above all, Diane adored her family and cherished every memory she made with them. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Diane will always be remembered for her big heart, friendly demeanor, and constant smile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Ronald Meadowcroft; stepmother, Roxanne Michaud; siblings, Linda Lamontagne and Stanley Lamontagne; and brother-in-law, Michael Leighton. She leaves behind her children, Yolanda Meadowcroft, Ronald Meadowcroft (Tricia), and Rana Johnson (Paul); siblings, Elizabeth Doucette (Michael), Mary Moulton (Steve), Kathy Manfield (Burt), Mark Digton (Nevada), Yvonne Jacques (Gary), Heidi Leighton, and Shane Michaud (Iva); grandchildren, Christopher Sizemore (Christina), Amanda Meadowcroft, Veronica Meadowcroft (Jeff), Kaitlyn Cloherty (Sean), Paul-Paul Johnson and Olivia Johnson; her four-legged companions, Mila and Milo and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many more family members.

The Meadowcroft family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to DCFC for their services and to Diane’s nurse, Jameel Karamali, and Dr. Kenneth Trzepkowski, from AccentCare Hospice, as well as her faithful friend, Kathy Wisowaty. They would also like to extend their gratitude to Matthew Smith for all he has done for their family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm. A committal service will begin at 11 am on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

At least once a year Diane and I would stand in middle of street to talk and get out all of our frustrations. I will cherish all the memories I have of her.
