Dianell Lee Gordy, age 46, of Magnolia, DE, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE on May 14, 1977, she was a daughter of the late Donald Charles and Phyllis Ann (Reynolds) Gordy. At the age of 2 her parents moved to California where she was raised. Dianell made her career as an administrative director at Shell’s Early Learning Center.

Dianell was very artistic and enjoyed spending her free time scrapbooking, going to concerts, dinner with friends and spending time with her grandson. Most of all, Dianell adored her family and cherished the memories she made with them, especially their movie nights. She will always be remembered as the life of the party.

Dianell gave the ultimate gift through the Gift of Life Organ Donation Program which will enable many to have a better quality of life.

Dianell is survived by her sons, Justin Thomas and John Thomas; grandson, Santana Thomas; nieces, Nina Hite and Ananda Hite; and sister, Jennifer Gordy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dianell’s memory to Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. Please make checks payable to Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home and mail to 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, or call (302) 328-2213.

  • My heart is absolutely broken by this news. We had lost touch for a while after we both left Connecticut, but had been able to catch up on Facebook from time to time. I was so blessed to have had Dianell as a neighbor and friend for a few years. The memories of our times hanging at the apartment or out and about will always be treasured.
