Don Medich, age 80, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Born in Boissevain, VA, on November 29, 1942, he was a son of the late Steve Medich and Myrtle (Gilbert) Hunt. Don proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as an assembler at Chrysler Corp. in Newark until his retirement.

Don enjoyed staying active in his spare time by walking and going to the gym.  His greatest passion was music, especially playing the guitar.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. (Bowles) Medich; daughter, Kim D. Manns; and grandson, David Manns, Jr. He is survived by his step-son, Chris Foster; daughter, Diana L. Morris; brother, George Medich (Rose); granddaughter, Alanna Manns; and great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Appleton Rd., Elkton, MD.

  • Rest in Peace Don . I will always remember you as a strong , quiet , good man . You welcomed Leah and myself to come live with you , never complained . You will be missed .

  • I always enjoyed talking with you about your knowledge of different parts of the country you’ve been to , especially talking about Pocahauntis. He was such a smart guy about so many things and I also enjoyed the conversations pertaining to the stock market. Everyone from the UAW gym/union hall will l miss Don the Doctor. All of the guys will miss his recommendations for medicine (from the internet). He was a lot of fun!
