Donald A. “Donnie” Guseman, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 30, 2024. Donnie was a lifelong resident of Middletown, Delaware. After graduating Middletown High, he served in the United States Army. He tried his hand at farming and his own construction business before settling in at Chrysler’s Newark Parts Depot where he remained for 34 years. Before retiring, he served at the UAW Local 404 in many capacities including Committeeman. Donald had many passions in life: Standardbred Racing (as an owner, trainer and driver), golf and later in life, billiards.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Walter C. Guseman Sr.; his first wife, Marie; his sister, Thelma Barton; and his brother, Walter C. Guseman, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Mary; and his children, Mike (Lisa), Mark (Tammy) and Denise Barr; step children, Ivan O’Conner (Giannina), Roxanna “Rochi” O’Conner and Jose Luis O’Conner (Carla); eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren (plus one on the way); as well as his brother, David; and many nieces and nephews.
