Donald Phipps “Don” Poole, Jr.

Donald Phipps “Don” Poole, Jr., age 82, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Born in Chelsea, MA, on May 27, 1939, he was a son of the late Donald P. and Melva (Meehan) Poole, Sr. Don enjoyed a successful, 30-year career in the financial services industry, and retired in the early 1990s as Director of Agencies for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, where he received many awards over the years, including Presidents Club. In his leisure time, he enjoyed wood-working and playing golf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Carol A. Poole; his second wife of 10 years, Barbara A. Poole; and his grandson, George Kyminas. He is survived by his children of his first marriage, Kevin Poole (Bonnie) of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, Karen Quinn of Claremont, New Hampshire, Brian Poole (Maria) of Newark, Kelly Saulig (Freddy) of Avon Lake, Ohio; and brother, Steven Poole Brook of Berkley, California; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a Memorial Service will follow at 3 pm. Interment will be held privately.
