Donald W. “Don” Everett

Donald W. “Don” Everett, age 80, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, after a long battle with lung disease.
Born in Smyrna, DE on November 24, 1944, he was the son of late Harry T. and Idella M. (Tucker) Everett. Don worked for 30 years at General Motors as an assembler. After retirement, Don worked as a security guard and groundskeeper at a golf course.
Don enjoyed going fishing and crabbing, vacationing with family, and entertaining his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was a loving and devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Family was everything to him!
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine “Kitty” Paxton, Mary Cluesman, and Alice Sartin. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy (Beardsley) Everett; four children, Cheryl Bailey, Donald E. “Don” Everett, Jen Steele, and Christina Hegesi; seven grandchildren, Felica Etter, Ashley Everett, Jennifer Everett-Steele, Tamara Hegesi, Kassidie Everett, Jessica States, and Frederick Steele, III; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Idella Hughs, William “Bill” Everett, Peggy Gillespie, Thelma Akers, Larry Everett, Ruth Boorhees-Shumaker, Diane Schaffer, and George Everett; along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him. Don leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us!
