Donna A. “Meatball” Morris, age 66, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on June 25, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian (Dobrowalski) Riccio. She was a 1976 graduate of William Penn High School. In her earlier years, she was an avid softball player for Fatima CYO, playing second base.

Donna worked at Super Fresh for many years, before most notably becoming a deli clerk at Pleasantville Country Maid Deli, where she formed many cherished relationships with her customers, whom she often referred to as her “regulars.”

Donna enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: chatting with friends and family, relaxing at the pool or beach, watching football, and hosting gatherings with her family and friends. She had a special talent for entertaining and was especially known for her “famous” Superbowl parties.

Donna’s vibrant personality lit up every room she entered, and she had a knack for making everyone feel welcomed and valued.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Riccio. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, David L. Morris; sons, Joseph Morris (Jessica) of Bear and Bradley Morris (Kasey) of New Castle; sister, Monica Stong (Steven) of Bear; grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, and Daniel Morris; niece, Kaitlin Stong; and nephews, Thomas and Brandon Riccio.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.

    My wife and I met you at the deli one night when you came to pick up Donna from work. I went to school with Donna up thru high school and we also ran around Chelsea park as kids. There will never be anyone as nice as Donna was. I know she touched many people with her generosity and friendship. God got a true angel.
