Donna S. Wright - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Donna S. Wright

July 22, 1957 - April 24, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna S. Wright, who left this world peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Born on July 22, 1957, Donna grew up in New Castle, Delaware, and graduated from William Penn High School.

Donna was the daughter of Margaret and John “Jack” Shelton, and the sister of Rosemary Bryson (Rick), John Shelton (Nancy), and Tim Shelton (Cindy).

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Wright, who passed away in June of 2016. Donna leaves behind a legacy of love through her amazing children: Nick Wright (Kerri), Mallori Ashmead (Damian), and Adam Wright. She was the proud grandmother to Kayne, Hannah, McKenzie, Nicholas Jr., Paxton, and Zachary. Donna’s love also extended to her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Donna touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor. Above all else, Donna cared deeply for her children and always wanted the best for them.

Her family would like everyone to hold onto all the wonderful memories of Donna — the barbecues, water balloon fights, and joyful holidays shared together. It is in these moments of laughter and love that her spirit will live on.

A service will be held to honor Donna’s life at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Townsend Church, 4519 Dupont Parkway, Townsend, DE 19734.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
