Doris Romaine (Cantner) Cline

Doris Romaine (Cantner) Cline, age 88, of Smyrna, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

Born in Hagerstown, MD on December 24, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Louise (Charles) Cantner. Doris explored various career options including food service at Chrysler, Arrow Safety, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Her favorite job of all was being a dedicated homemaker to her family.

A friend to her community, Doris spent countless hours volunteering at Good Samaritan Aid Thrift Shop. She was a member of the Red Hat Society as well as the Shiloh Community Church. Doris found comfort in attending widows group meetings. One of her greatest joys was giving at Christmas time. In her spare time Doris was an avid bowler and had a passion for cooking.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard E. Cline; sons, Terry E. Cline and Harvey E. Cline; grandson, Michael Cline; great-grandson, Ethan Cline; 3 sisters; and 1 brother. She is survived by her beloved children, Steven E. Cline, Debbie R. Craig (George, Jr.), and Richard E. Cline (Cynthia); grandchildren, Melody Cline, Donald Johnson, George Craig III, Joshua Craig (Danielle), Tommy Cline (Brandi), Kelsey Kane (Kani), and Zachary Cline; and great-grandchildren, Riley Cline, Mykie Cline, Avery Roberts, Zachary Johnson, and Mia Porter.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, March 28, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
