Dorothy Rita (White) Bailey

Dorothy Rita (White) Bailey, age 66, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

Born in Wilmington DE, on August 30, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Virginia (Schuster) White. After graduating from James H. Groves High School, Dorothy was employed with WSFS. She then devoted her life to being a loving mother and wife when her son Edwin was born.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Mom-Mom who loved spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed creating custom greeting cards, holiday ornaments, and photo collages for her family. She loved all animals big and small, enjoyed feeding wild birds, and spoiling her dog, Frankie. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Susan and Thomas Holden. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jim H. Bailey; children, Edwin Bailey (Rebecca) and Laurie Bailey (Joey); sister, Andrea Moore, who was like a mother to her; step-sister, Frances Mclean; 7 beautiful grandchildren; and many dear friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.

Our mothers seemed to-gather only at weddings funerals and other occasions as such . I’m very sad to hear that you’ve gone home you will be missed but you’ll always be in the best of .
