Douglas Arthur “Doug” Schwartz

Douglas Arthur “Doug” Schwartz, age 66, of Newark, DE, returned to the peace of our spiritual home and to his loving parents, Betty and Byron Schwartz, Sr.; his brother, Byron “Skip” Schwartz, Jr.; and spiritual brother, Dale Slack, on Friday, April 25, 2025. His beloved wife of 33 years, Karen, was by his side.

In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by one sister, Janet Schwartz; brother-in-law, Steve Fidanza and his wife, Penny; brother-in-law, Alex Fidanza; sister-in-law, Barbara Martz; and several nieces and nephews.

Doug devoted his entire life to being an artist, and was an accomplished fine art nature photographer. He shared his love for nature photography with his wife, Karen. Doug felt most at home being outdoors surrounded by nature.

In his words:

“To me, there is a spiritual connection between nature and the artist. I am intuitively aware of this every time I am out in the field. Creating artistic compositions of nature is a pure joy for me. I hope that my photographic discoveries serve to increase the public’s awareness of the delicate, fragile beauty of our natural world.”
