Edward M. Phillips

Edward M. Phillips, age 93, of Milford, DE and formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
Born on June 8, 1927, in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Marvel and Naomi Phillips. Edward was a graduate of Wilmington Friends High School, Lafayette College and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced as a physician in Claymont for 45 years, before retiring at the age of 70.
Following retirement, Edward volunteered at Claymont Community Center and Christiana Care. He enriched lives through his work as a student mentor for First State School. Edward was also a devout member of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Taylor) Phillips of Milford; children, William Phillips (Eileen) of Bear, George Phillips (Linda) of Lewes, and Robert Phillips (Karen) of Greenbackville, VA; 5 grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter.
All services will be held privately.

I’m sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Phillips. He was a very caring and thorough doctor to me in my younger years. After a visit he would always call later on to see how I was doing. You don’t find doctors like him anymore. God bless him and my sympathies to the family.
