Elaine Evans

Elaine Evans, age 95, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE on May 15, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Roy Rose and Hazel (Willard) Way. Elaine was a homemaker, raising her six children for many years. She later made her career as an auditor at the State of Delaware until her retirement.

Deep in her faith, Elaine was a member of Fairwinds Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping and travelling to new places. Elaine was a member of the Weston Senior Center where she loved creating ceramics. More than anything, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Evans, Sr. She is survived by her children, Robert B. Evans Jr., Kathleen R. Ament (Jim), Susan E. Lardear (Joseph), Gregory M. Evans, Andrew N. Evans (Alison), and James R. Evans (Jan); siblings, Willard Way (Diane) and Dolores Sechrist; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
