Elizabeth Anne Corday

Elizabeth Anne Corday, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE on September 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Elizabeth A. (O’Neill) McCloskey, Jr. Elizabeth made her career as a legal secretary, spending 7 years at James Julian, Inc. in Wilmington as well as Conyers, Dill & Pearman in Hamilton, Bermuda for 7 years, until her retirement in 1992. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, Hoyle board games, and was a life-long fan of the soap opera The Young and The Restless.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Corday; brother, Francis J. McCloskey III; and grandson, Chris. She is survived by her children, Diane C. Cleaves; David B. Cleaves (Sue) of Pittsburg, PA; and granddaughter, Richie Harrison, as well as friends and family.

A memorial service will begin at 11 am on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Inurnment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
