Elizabeth "Betty" Ann (Cole) Momcilovich - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Cole) Momcilovich

June 2, 1953 - November 14, 2025

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Cole) Momcilovich, age 72, of North East, MD, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Born in Danville, VA on June 2, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Bennett Ogburn and Elizabeth (Delancey) Cole. Betty spent her early childhood in Germany, Martinsville, VA and Madison, NY and completed her schooling in Newark, Delaware. She graduated from Newark High School in 1971, going on to earn her degree in Office Administration from Delaware Technical Community College.  After she retired from HSBC Bank, she completed a second degree in Medical Billing and Coding.

Betty worked in a variety of roles throughout her life. She started work at Casa Kitchens, then worked for DuPont.  She was a full-time mother and homemaker while she raised her four children and worked in Tupperware sales. She then followed her youngest, Stephen to Wilmington Christian School and worked as a Kindergarten Aide.  When her children were all in middle and high school, she returned to the commercial world and worked for HSBC in international money transfers. On the morning of 9/11/2001, she started what turned into a 96-hour shift.  She only came home for the weekend after the US Federal Reserve Window closed. After retirement, she rekindled her entrepreneurial spirit and produced and sold Holiday-themed crafts.  As a talented craft enthusiast, she encouraged others to get active and participate in numerous holiday craft shows.

Betty loved playing tennis in her teenage years and was an expert girl scout. She enjoyed singing and playing guitar throughout the rest of her life. She was on the Worship Team at the Barn Vineyard Fellowship. In addition, she was an expert at competitive board games and crosswords.

Above all, she cherished time with her family hosting gatherings, and celebrating the holidays. She especially loved cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles during countless game days and Super Bowl parties.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Momcilovich; and her four children, Lana, Seth (Melissa), Katherine, and Stephen. She is lovingly remembered by her dear granddaughter, Ariel Momcilovich. Stephen is to be commended for his devoted nursing care during her last years.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

There will be a luncheon at a nearby restaurant.

Flowers are appreciated and donations may be made in Betty’s memory to her favorite charity, Compassion International, 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 or online by clicking here.
