Elizabeth Chambers “Bette” Roggio

Elizabeth Chambers “Bette” Roggio, age 90, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Born in Collingdale, PA on May 18, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helene (Witmer) Kennard. Bette was a graduate of Collingdale High School in Pennsylvania. She began her career as a secretary at Zenith Products. While there, Bette met her future husband, Armando.

Bette loved to listen to music and enjoyed spending her free time drawing. She could often be found tending to her garden. Most of all, Bette cherished spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Bette was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Armando Roggio; and son, Louis Roggio. She is survived by her children, Jody S. Roggio, Dawn E. Bobrownicki (Raymond), Glenn Roggio (Kimberly), Doran Roggio, and Salvatore Roggio (Nancy); sister, Anne Cartlidge; grandchildren, Raymond Bobrownicki, Kathleen Bobrownicki, Kimberly Bingham, Glenn A. Roggio Jr., Kayleigh Roggio, Kyrie Hall, Elizabeth-Ann Roggio, Brian Roggio, Josiah Roggio, Micah Roggio, Michael Elman, Heather Smith, Louis Roggio, Robyn Roggio, Susan Schulde, Sharon Roggio, Joyce Rempel and Stephanie Wright; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.

  • Bette was a beautiful, intelligent and Loving woman who will be missed and remembered. My condolences to the family.

  • I’m so sorry to hear this! I always enjoyed chatting with her on her front porch. She always had sweet words of encouragement. And we enjoyed talking politics from time to time! She and Mr Roggio were wonderful neighbors! I will truly miss her!
