Emma Mae Martin

Emma Mae Martin, age 97, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Born and raised in Avoca, PA on December 17, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Williams) Marsh. Emma was a graduate of Avoca High School where she met her husband William, they married when he returned from World War II.

When her eyesight allowed, Emma loved to knit and crochet. Later she enjoyed listening to audio books. Emma worked in the insurance industry doing clerical work for Family Finance and Travelers Insurance.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Martin; daughter, Deborah Maroney; and siblings, Harry Marsh, Myron Marsh, and  June Howell. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Fleetwood (Al); grandchildren, Keith Fleetwood (Jen), Kenneth Fleetwood (Betsy), and Amy Woitko (Paul); and 9 great-grandchildren.

All services will be held privately.
