Erik A. “Turk” Lutz

Erik A. “Turk” Lutz, age 56, of Claymont, DE, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 3, 1967, he was the son of John H. and Cornelia A. (Lane) Lutz, Jr. Erik grew up in Northridge in Claymont, where he created his closest lifelong friends. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, where he was on the swimming and football teams. Erik then went on to earn his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Delaware. Post graduation he went on to be a senior software engineer at Automated Financial Systems, where he spent 16 years of his career.
Erik had a love of the outdoors and was always active. He loved the beach, playing golf, shooting hoops, shooting pool, and bowling. In his down time, you could always find Erik in the kitchen cooking his next masterpiece. Erik’s true passion in life was being a father and spending time with his two boys. He was always looking for their next adventure together, whether it be at a ball game, skiing, golf outing, finding the latest place to eat or simply hanging out at home.
In addition to his parents, Erik is survived by his children, Alexander C. Lutz and Michael P. Lutz; and brother, John H. Lutz III; the Lutz family of Fort Collins, CO; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins of the Lane Family of Haverford, PA.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A second visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the funeral home, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
