February 29, 1940 - April 29, 2020

Ethel (Mae) P. Lewis, age 80, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. 

Born in Landenberg, PA on February 29, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Bayard and Helen Marie (Hess) Hollett. Ethel attended Elkton High School and Brown Vocational School, graduating in 1958. She was quite creative and loved to sew. She worked as a realtor for Century 21 and was a talented seamstress. In her spare time, Ethel enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, and listening to Elvis.  

 She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Lewis; children, Donna Stiles (James) and Lori Waters (Wesley); grandchildren, Jaclyn M. Stiles, Bradley J. Stiles, Charles D. Waters, and Julia C. Waters; and the last Hollett girl, sister Pauline “Polly” Willis; and numerous nieces, nephews and grands. 

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine F. Ferguson; and brother, Bayard C. Hollett. Her sister, Phoebe Robinson, has since joined her as of May 2, 2020. 

All services will be held privately, and a Celebration of Life will be held when we all will be able to gather (date TBD).
