2 Condolences for Eugene Edward “Gene” McCormick

  • To Gene’s loving family,

My deepest sympathies to you as you grieve the loss of a kind and strong, yet gentle man.

We shared a special friendship that started only a few years ago through Gene’s act of kindness. He showed up at my door one night with a lantern that had a super bright light. Our neighborhood had experienced a power outtage earlier that week, and he wanted to make sure I was prepared next time the lights went out. From there, we became friends.

I enjoyed going across the street to visit with Gene for a beer, sit on the deck, watch Jeopardy, or just hear about his younger days. Gene loved to have my dog, Missy, sit with him too. He shared stories of his time as an alter boy, playing football, serving his country, and so many more great memories. His love for his family was always evident and your love for him could not have been any more visible than the care you provided over the duration of his illness, and especially these last several weeks.

May he rest in peace and may you find comfort knowing that he is reunited with Marie and his son, Gene.
    Love,
    Tiffany (and Missy, of course)
