Evelyn “Eve” C. Smolka

Evelyn Eve C. Smolka, age 82, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 6 2018.

Eve was born in Somerville, MA, on September 2, 1935 and dedicated her life as a talented homemaker.

Eve enjoyed staying active, especially dancing, yard work and walking.  In her leisure time, she loved watching Investigation Discovery Channel.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and dear friend to many.

Eve was preceded in death by her husband, William Bill Joseph Smolka, Sr.; daughter, Marie Smolka; and brother, Harry Belcher.  She is survived by her children, William Smolka, Jr., Joe Smolka (Robin), Annette Stevenson, Brenda Miller (Dean), Jeanne Price and Suzanne Smolka (Joseph Olewnik); 26 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and pet cats, Pookins, Tiger and Blackie.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm.  Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eve’s name to Dementia Society of America, 114 N Main St, Doylestown, PA, 18901.

Ms. Eve touched so many people’s heart with her kindness. We feel blessed that she shared her love and kindness toward us. Such an amazing woman. Ms. Eve always made us, personally, feel special. Always kind words, she was a sweetheart. We will hold her close in our hearts. Always remembered.

We all always had so much fun and you guys made me feel so loved. As an adult, you were my favorire dance partner 🙂 You were so gentle, kind and sweet.
