Everett James “Smitty” Smith, age 71, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE on May 27, 1951, he was a son of the late Everett Smith and Antoinette Fresconi. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Smith, and sister, Patricia Handlin.

Smitty worked as a roofing contractor for many years. He was an avid softball player and was a proud member of St. Anthony’s Club in New Castle.

Smitty is survived by his children, Teresa Smith, Danielle Smith, Brittany Smith, Nickolas Hinton, and Alexis Smith; grandchildren, Madison, Gabrielle, and Dominic; brothers, Patrick McClafferty (Paula) and Rondo Wronowicz; and nieces and nephews, Tammy, Renai, Melissa, Michelle, Lisa, Angie, Ron Jr., Robert and Cammie.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately.
