Faye Lynn (Baker) Sturgis

Faye Lynn (Baker) Sturgis, age 68, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, DE on April 25, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Franklin B. and Leota (Herman) Baker, Jr. Faye made her career in Delaware as a receptionist and administrator.

Faye enjoyed giving back to her community as a member of the Island Women Carolina Beach Club. She could often be found tending to her garden or going for a drive in her convertible. Every day, Faye looked forward to spending a few hours unwinding on the beach. She enjoyed traveling to new places with her husband, Mark and relaxing in their hot tub. Faye was a talented artist, creating many beautiful works of art. She also loved treating herself to a cold Stella Artois. Faye especially adored her Pomeranians, Kooper and Mickey. She will always be remembered as an amazing grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Mark Sturgis; and brothers, Jay Baker and Chuck Baker. She is survived by her son, Neil A. Sturgis and wife, Kelsi; daughter, Sumer Walker; and grandchildren, Ellianna Belle Sturgis, Mia Addison Sturgis, Lawson Bullock Sturgis, Mason Strecker, Crew Walker, and Piper Walker.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.
