  • Ruth and family,

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I got to know Floyd during his years as a Red Cross volunteer. He was our unofficial Director of Maintenance/Carpentry and simply just took care of our building and equipment with little fanfare. He also took down every cabinet door in our run down convent-turned-nonprofit and refinished them. The end result was so beautiful and deeply appreciated by all of us.

He was always the first to greet everyone in the morning and eager to chat about anything. I recall his warm smile and gentle soul with such fondness. I also loved seeing Floyd and Ruth when they would visit First Lutheran Church in Lyons.

Floyd walked softly in this world but made a tremendous impact. May your beautiful memories help you find peace during this difficult time.

    With love,
    Renee (Smith) Mooneyhan
