Frances R. (Kempski) Kowalski

Frances R. (Kempski) Kowalski, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 1, 2023.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on November 19, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Elsie (Kwoka) Kempski. Frances made her career as an assembly worker at General Motors for 31 years until her retirement in 2000.
Frances was an avid bowler for 50 years, traveling to tournaments locally and nationally. Deep in her faith, she was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church. Frances could often be found in the kitchen cooking a delicious meal or enjoying her favorite Polish foods. Above all, she loved hosting and attending family gatherings, especially for Christmas.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her children, Joseph L Kowalski, Jr. and Frances R. (Kowalski) Stranahan; brother, Paul Kempski; and sister-in-laws, Anita Kempski and Elba Kempski. She is survived by her children, Karen Ward-Chance (David), David Kowalski (Diane) and Ronnie Kowalski; siblings, Anthony Kempski, Sr. and Ronald Kempski (Virginia); grandchildren, Daniel Kowalski (Michele), Jennifer Ward, Robert JW Ward, Jamie Kowalski, Alison Kowalski, Andrew Kowalski, Caitlyn Kowalski, Victoria Kowalski, Ronnie “RJ” Kowalski, Edward Stranahan, and Frances Phillips (Steve); and great-grandchildren, Camron, Philip, Thomas, Paige, Kali, Kaylee, Eddie and Bryce.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 North DuPont Boulevard, New Castle, DE. Interment will be private for family and extended family at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
